what is a wounded inner child?
During childhood experiences, our central nervous system responds to survive the situation. This is often referred to as the fight, flight, freeze or fawn response and becomes our default as we grow up.
The age and maturity level our bodies were at the time of the experience is our wounded inner child.
When we are "triggered," it is our wounded inner child (our familiar "trapped" body responses) that takes over and responds.

what is trauma coaching vs therapy?
Trauma-informed therapists operate under a medical model of care. As professionals, they are trained to assess, diagnose and provide an action plan FOR a client. Therapists work with and treat the trauma.
Trauma-informed coaches operate under a support model, which is peer-to-peer. As coaches, they will help uncover resources and tools, and develop goals WITH a client. Coaches guide clients in recovery from the effects of trauma.

who do i work with?
I am certified to work with adults in a one-on-one setting.
what can you expect during your first session?
The first session, we will go over your basic personal information such as current family, family of origin, and behaviors or challenges you have concerns about. We will briefly explore past trauma experiences and follow up with current activities for daily living. Last, we will assess your safety level and develop a plan in the event of a safety risk. I will do my best to create a fluid and nonjudgmental environment where you feel seen and cared for.
what techniques do i use for coaching?
To encourage recovery, I love to ask curious questions and hold space for you to explore your own beliefs and possibilities. I like to use a variety of concepts during coaching such as attachment styles, inner child work and Internal Family Systems. Working in these concepts may include visualization, meditation, talking inward and doing outside suggested work like journaling.
how do you pay for sessions?
I will charge your Venmo account per session. The invoice must be paid before the session can take place.
If you do not have Venmo, other arrangements will be made.

How long does recovery take?
It takes at least three sessions to collect valuable, necessary information before we can begin the coaching process. After that, recovery is deeply personal. As humans, we grow and evolve. Therefore, healing is a lifelong endeavor. When you put in the work to learn about and process your trapped trauma, you will see a difference in how you act, react and live. My goal is to help you uncover the tools for lasting change.
